BRAIN FREEZE

ALLEGIANCE:
DECEPTICON
FUNCTION: INTERROGATIONS
SUB-GROUP: HEADMASTER
HUMAN COMPONENT: DR. MENTAX
FIRST APPEARANCE: THE TRANSFORMERS #38

"You cannot defeat me if you cannot remember me."

Profile:  Brain Freeze is a diabolical interrogation expert for the Decepticons.  After capturing an unsuspecting Autobot, he learns what he can from them and then erases the information from their minds.  Most of the time, all his Autobot victims experience is a loss of data.  Every once in a while, he does such a thorough job that portions of their personalities are missing as well.  Due to the meticulous manner in which he performs his work, few robots ever remember Brain Freeze—and even fewer realize what he is capable of.  Brain Freeze is binary bonded to Dr. Mentax, a former Nebulon psychologist.  Mentax was well renowned in his field until a malpractice suit resulted in the loss of his medical license.  Embittered and angry, he turned to the Decepticon Headmasters, jumping at the chance to work with patients again.  Now, he uses his skills and knowledge of medicine to assist in Brain Freeze's interrogations, making the Decepticon interrogator even more effective than before.

Abilities:  In jet mode, Brain Freeze can travel up to 2000 mph.  He is armed with two side-mounted cryo-crystallizer cannons, capable of immobilizing Autobots by reducing their circuitry to sub-zero temperatures in a matter of seconds.  He also transforms to a bipedal dinosaur mode capable of short bursts of flight, using rockets in his legs.  In this mode, he can create small, localized earthquakes with a single stomp of his foot.  He prefers using his robot mode to conduct his interrogations, projecting psionic bursts through his hands that can confuse and disorient his subjects as he extracts the necessary information from their minds.

Weaknesses:  Sometimes, Brain Freeze suffers from the residual effects of his own psionic bursts.  He ends up forgetting the information he's learned during interrogations, which can be problematic if he's already erased his subject's mind.   Also, crystalline particle build-up inside the barrels of his cryogenic cannons can reduce their effectiveness, sometimes even causing them to backfire and freeze his own systems.
